Porthgain harbour

A major quarrying and stone crushing and sizing operation was carried out in the area surrounding Porthgain. Ships would come into the harbour to be loaded with stone of various sizes for road building around the UK. The improvement in road and rail links finished off this operation. The harbour is now only useable by small craft.
